- To avoid permanent duco damage, wash your car regularly
with as little additives and pressure as possible.
- Try to wash the car on lawn so the run off is not wasted.
- Some contaminants such as bird droppings on a hot day,
react very quickly and may need to be removed immediately.
- Use premium quality sponges, micro-fibre cloths and chamois
to wash and dry your car.
- Avoid leaving your car in harsh weather conditions.
- Keep your car garaged as much as possible.
- Apply good quality barrier duco protection (polishes,
waxes, sealers) on a regular basis. In the long run these protectors
will pay for themselves.
- Make sure the duco is reasonably cool before you wash
your car.
Do not:
- Let the soapy water enter storm water drains.
- Allow anyone to wash your car unless they can dispose
of the wash water in a legal and environmentally friendly way.
- Wash your car in direct sunlight.
- Use 'Windex' or any amonia based cleaner on your
tinted windows
Did you know?
- Automatic car washes use excessive water, strong detergents,
high-pressure water and heat. This combination is not only damaging
to your duco, but is extremely wasteful and toxic to the environment.
- Mild detergent has good water retention properties so
is an added bonus to your lawn in dry weather.
- The dirt and contaminants on your car react with the
painted surface. The longer they stay on the car the greater the damage
will be.
- Brake pads are made of black copper oxide. This is the
black dust that coates your wheels. Unfortunately copper is a heavy
metal and is poisonous to the enviroment. This poison is easly removed
in our Blue Planet seperation tanks, but flows straight into our water
ways if you dont use a properly established commercial car wash.
